We listen, act, and transform
Welcome. I’m Crystal Payne, LCSW, and I’m grateful you’re here. I began my journey in social work over a decade ago with a deep passion for helping people heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves and their relationships. As a military veteran, a spouse, a mother, and a Black queer therapist, I understand firsthand how complex life can be—and how powerful it is to have a safe, affirming space to process it all.
My approach to therapy is holistic. I believe true healing happens when we honor the mind, body, and soul collectively. While every person and story is unique, I often begin with a cognitive behavioral foundation to help you reframe unhelpful patterns and create meaningful change. From there, I integrate a tailored blend of evidence-based modalities to support the goals you identify.
I specialize in working with couples, LGBTQ+ individuals, and clients navigating challenges such as stress, depression, anxiety, workplace concerns, family conflict, relationship issues, and family planning. My work is grounded in compassion, cultural humility, and a commitment to seeing you as a whole person—not just the parts of you that are hurting.
In our time together, we will co-create a treatment plan guided by SMART goals, centering your voice, your values, and your pace. I will listen without judgment, respect your lived experiences, and help you build the skills, insight, and habits that support the life you want to live. My goal is to help you reconnect with your power, find clarity, and experience more peace and fulfillment.
I hold a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Social Work from Clark Atlanta University. I’ve had the privilege of serving individuals, families, groups, and couples for over ten years—and every day, I’m reminded that taking the first step toward healing is both courageous and transformative.
Congratulations on choosing yourself. I look forward to supporting you and getting to know you on this journey.
